On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, the school board appointed me as the superintendent of St. Martin Parish Schools. I would like to thank everyone for their support over my career in St. Martin Parish, especially during the last seven months. I am excited as we begin working to prepare for next school year and I am excited at the prospect of serving our students, staff and the people of our district.
As we approach LEAP testing, continue to stress to your students the importance of being prepared. Remind students to get plenty of rest and to eat a good breakfast on the days of testing. We have prepared all year for this event and we want to make sure they are prepared each day during testing.
We are quickly approaching the Easter Break and I hope everyone has had a chance to enjoy the pretty springtime weather. In a few weeks everyone will get a well-deserved break and when we return from that break, the end of the school year will not be far away. Remember to keep the students busy until the last day of the year. Every instructional minute counts and the best way to minimize disruptions is to keep the students engaged in meaningful instruction.
I truly believe that if we all work together in a professional manner, St. Martin Parish schools will continue to grow and that we will become an “A” district. I look forward to working with everyone in providing the best educational services for our students.
