SUBMITTED QUESTIONS:

Question 1: In the St. Martin Parish School Board RFP, Section 6.5, you reference the “the wireless solution will be 4x4 802.11ax APs, see specs provided”. In Section 9: Specifications of Wireless Infrastructure, you reference that you are seeking R720 and Ruckus T-710 or equivalent AP’s and in Section 9.3, you reference 802.11AC Wave 2 Wi-FI. Since both the R720 and T-710 APs are 802.11AC Wave 2 compliant APs,
Can we assume that Section 6.5 should have indicated 4x4 802.11AC Wave 2 AP’s instead ?

Answer 1: Yes, Section 6.5 should have indicated 4x4 802.11AC Wave 2 APs.

Question 2:  Also, in Section 6.5, you reference “All equipment must work with existing switch infrastructure”. But since the St. Martin Parish School Board currently has many HPE 1910-24 POE Switches, JE007A models, that do not support the 802.3at standard, as required in Section 9.5.5,
May we assume that the St. Martin Parish School Board will acquire, from this RFP, the necessary switches to provide the required 802.3at power requirements for full AP functionality, and to provide multigigabit support to enable full back-haul capabilities of the AP’s requested ?

Answer 2:  St. Martin Parish School Board will be acquiring, from this RFP, the necessary switches to provide the required 802.3at power requirements.

Question 3:  In Section 6.13, the St. Martin Parish School Board is requesting a turn-key solution for the purchase of equipment and installation. It also states in these sections that the “turn-key solution “may” include cabling; however, the District reserves the right to consider cabling bids in the turn-key solution or as a separate bid”.
Also, in Section 6.14, the St. Martin Parish School Board states: “The name of the contract or subcontractor performing the cabling work must be included in the proposal, and the bid must consist of the cabling company’s reference, including direct contact information. Proposals not including this information will be disqualified from bidding.”
Will the St. Martin Parish School Board please provide clarification as to whether a technology company must provide the cabling/cabling components (racks/patch panels/jumpers and other associated cabling hardware) portion of this RFP, or may they only bid the remaining non-cabling related components of this RFP as their turn-key solution for which they have expertise in ?

Answer 3:  You can bid on the non-cabling portion of the RFP and consider it to be turn-key by providing all elements of that particular product.

Question 4:  In Sections 6.13 and 6.14, the St. Martin Parish School Board is requesting a turn-key solution for the purchase of equipment and installation. It also states in these sections that the “turn-key solution may include cabling; however, the District reserves the right to consider cabling bids in the turn-key solution or as a separate bid”.
If a responding vendor to this RFP “must” provide cabling in their solution and since it is quite apparent that cabling will be a large portion of this RFP as well as an important component for your Next Generation network, would the St. Martin Parish School Board provide the name and contact information of their current preferred cabling contractor for those IT Solution providers who do not handle cabling in their implementations. This would assure that the St. Martin Parish School Board would have reputable cabling companies respond to the cabling requirements of this RFP and allow those companies who specialize in Solution Implementations to respond to those areas of the RFP that they do specialize in?

Answer 4:  Asked and answered in question 3. You do not need to bid on the cabling portion of the RFP.

Question 5:  Since the St. Martin Parish School Board RFP requires that each section/sub-section be replied to: Could the St. Martin Parish School Board please make available to each vendor who wishes to reply to the RFP, a copy of the RFP Document in standard Microsoft Word format – if available and upon their request? This would greatly enhance each vendor’s response to the RFP as the responses would be inline right after each section/sub-section.

Answer 5: She the document attached below for the requested document in Word format. Disclaimer is that NO wording or any other part of the document can be altered. We have added fields to allow for the parts that are needed.
