IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE JULY 23, 2024 COURT-ORDERED ATTENDANCE ZONE CHANGES:
On July 23, 2024, as part of decades-old litigation, the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana ordered changes to several current attendance zone lines for the St. Martin Parish School System, which were negotiated and extensively discussed with the court over the last year. These changes will take effect immediately for the 2024-2025 school year and will impact some students in grades K through 12. The affected school zones include Parks Primary, Parks Middle, Early Learning Center, St. Martinville Primary, St. Martinville Junior High, St. Martinville High, and Breaux Bridge High.
Information for Students in Grades 11 and 12:
As part of the court’s order, all students in grades 11 and 12 have the option to remain at their current schools. Parents and guardians of 11th and 12th-grade students who choose to remain at their current schools must submit their requests no later than Tuesday, August 6, 2024. All other students must attend their new school of attendance or use the district’s transfer eligibility application process through the Office of Child Welfare and Attendance. Parents and guardians interested in transfer options must submit a transfer request no later than Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The link to submit a transfer request is on the district’s Child Welfare and Attendance website. Transfer requests can be submitted to the Office of Child Welfare and Attendance.
