The SMSH Dechathlon Team took a field trip to New Orleans to learn more about the art they are currently studying in preparation for Dechathlon competition:

 

SMSH STUDENT EVENTS:

 

St. Martinville Senior High students attended Complexions Contemporary Ballet Wednesday, October 12, 2011 on the UL campus at Angelle Hall. PASA sponsored this electrifying event for students. The English 3 classes, Academic Decathlon, and Dead Poets Society writers along with chaperones, Sherrie Jacobs, Lori Capritto and Karen Dupont spent an enjoyable day at the ballet followed by lunch at Hong Kong Buffet.

RECENTLY WHITNEY ALBERT, A ST.  MARTINVILLE SR. HIGH STUDENT IN THE VISUAL ARTS/TALENTED PROGRAM,  SOLD HER ARTWORK TO A LOCAL ENTREPRENEUR.  SHE USED OIL PASTELS TO COMPETE THE PROJECT. WHITNEY WAS INSTRUCTED TO PREPARE A SALES PACKET  FOR  HER ARTWORK  AS DIRECTED BY HER INSTRUCTOR, DEIRDRE D. ROBERTSON.  THE VISUAL ARTS/TALENTED PROGRAM FOSTERS PROMOTION OF ART SALES, WHENEVER  APPILCABLE,  FOSTERS EXPLORATION OF VARIOUS ART MEDIA, TASK COMMITMENTS, &  ARTISTIC CREATIVITY.
