CHS Fine Arts Course Offerings
 
 
Art I (Grades 9-12)
    This is an introductory course for students.  This course includes basic lessons in appreciating the visual arts and in creating art forms as a means of personal expression.  Minimal supplies are required.
 
Art II
    This course is open to all students who have taken Art I.  Lessons include a continued appreciation of visual arts and creating art forms as a means of expression.  Minimal supplies are required.  (PREREQUISITE: Art I)
Art III
(PREREQUISITE:  Art I & Art II)

    These courses are open to all students who have taken Art I and Art II.  Lessons will include an advanced and in-depth study and appreciation of visual arts and creating art forms as a means of expression.  
Fine Arts Survey
    Fine Arts Survey is a course designed for college-bound students to broaden knowledge/foundation in the humanities.  The course will include an overview of music, creative writing, theatre, dance, the visual arts, and film. 
 *Note:  Fine Arts Survey is a requirement for eligibility in the T.O.P.S. scholarship program.  However, students may substitute two units of performance courses in music (Band, Advanced Band), dance and/or theatre; or two units of visual art (Art I & Art II) as part of the required unit courses for the T.O.P.S. scholarship award program.
