CHS Agriculture Course Offerings
 
 Agriscience I
 
    Agriscience I provides students with basic knowledge of agriculture and the science applications in agriculture.  This course includes
units in animal science, soil science, plant science, agricultural mechanics,food science technology, and agricultural leadership.  Mathematics,
science, English, biology, and human relations skills will be reinforced i
n this course.
Agriscience II
 
    Agriscience II provides students with basic knowledge of
agriculture and science applications in agriculture.  This
course includes units in animal science, soil science, plant
science, agricultural mechanics, and agricultural leadership.
 
 
(PREREQUISITE: Agriscience I)
 
 Agriscience III
 
    As the students progress through the agriculture curriculum, the subject matter becomes more technical.  All six areas of instruction are covered with a specific area to be emphasized.  This course is an advanced study in Agriscience based upon the local agricultural workforce and economic needs of the community.  The major areas of study includes person development skills, animal systems, plant systems environment issues, and mechanical skills.  (PREREQUISITE:  Agriscience I & Agriscience II)
 
 Agricultural Science IV
 
    In the final year of Agriculture, the students will use all knowledge received in each of the six areas of instruction.  The major areas of study includes personal development skills, animal systems, plan systems, environment issues, and mechanical skills. 
 (PREREQUISITE:  Agriscience I, II, & III)
 
 Cooperative Agriscience Eucation (CAE)
 
    CAE is a program where a student works at least fifteen hours a week in an agricultural-related field for the entire school year.  It provides on-the-job work experience.  This course is open only to juniors and seniors who have successfully completed Agricultural Science I, II, and III.  These students must be enrolled in Agricultural Science IV in the same year that they enroll in the CAE program.
