Loozi-Doodle by Kaylan P
These “Loozi-Doodle” artworks were drawn by students from five different schools across St. Martin Parish. These creative students are all in the Talent Visual Arts Program. Following our “Louisiana” theme this year, students created these amazing doodles starting with the outline of our state. The only requirement was to draw the doodle with black pen.

BINGO with the Principal
Students at Parks Primary School with an "A" in conduct for the first nine weeks earned a chance to play BINGO with the principal.

 Ms. Bonnie Girouard is our school librarian. She enjoys having the opportunity of getting to know each of the students in the school. All students visit the Library each week with their class.
Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is held each year in the Library at the end of the first 9-weeks. The fair is held during Parent Conferences.
Accelerated Reading
All students in 2nd grade participate in the Accelerated Reading Program. Students in 1st grade may enter the program when they reach a level of independent reading determined by our Reading Assessment Test.
Accelerated Reader is a program that was designed to give students practice in reading and to develop a lifelong love of reading. The children check out Library books from the Library or books from a classroom library and read them at home or during Sustained Silent Reading. Students may take tests in the Computer Lab before school, beginning at 7:20, during 2nd grade recess, during Library or at 2:40 in the afternoon (1st graders only). The program keeps track of the points earned. Points are used to reward students with positive incentives. For every 5 points a student earns, he/she receives a “book bead”. Also, each student is given a goal each 9-weeks. All students reaching their goals by the end of the 9-week period may attend a school-wide activity. Students reaching their goals twice during the year may attend the Big Kahuna in May.
