GEE Remediation

Our state used to  provide monies for remediation for our high school students. Since the 2009-2010 school year our  parish  school board now provides general fund monies for summer remediation for any student that has failed the English, Math, Science, or Social Studies part of the GEE exam or End of Course Exam.

In the 10-11 school year, St. Martin parish was allocated approximately $19,000 to be spent on the remediation program. Approximately four teachers from each high school
were designated to provide after school and summer school remediation for any student that failed the GEE or EOC test.  The teachers were paid for their after hour tutoring sessions.

The program will be provided this school year (2011-2012). If you are interested in the program, check with your guidance department or your principal of your school.
