Ms. Sharon Boudreaux, RN, BSN, has been accepted to present at the National School Nurse Conference in June. The conference will be held in San Francisco, California June 23rd to June 26. Ms. Boudreaux will present a session titled "Life Savers: School Nurse Implementation of Automated External Defibrillator Programs.
BBHS COE STUDENTS AWARDED MICROSOFT EXCEL SPECIALIST CERTIFICATION On Monday, May 7, 2012, COE students from Breaux Bridge High School successfully achieved certification by the Microsoft Corporation as Microsoft Excel Specialists: Joey Benoit, Shana Guidry, Layla Dore, Jean Pierre Dupuy, Brooke Gillespie, Devin Gregory, Amber Griffin, Jena Hebert, and Randall Hebert. They accomplished this by passing a computer-based Excel examination administered by Verssa Consulting, a Microsoft testing center. Special recognition goes to Randall Hebert and Brooke Gillespie for receiving a perfect score of 1000 on the exam.
Breaux Bridge High School Track Team competed at LSU in the 4A State Championship tournament May 5, 2012. BBHS took home five blue ribbons: (Darrian Thomas, tripple jump, Travin Dural, 200 meter, Kavahra Holmes, 400 meter, 4 x 200 relay, Chandler Thomas, Travin Dural, Jamal Zenon, Kavahra Holmes, and 4 x 400 relay, Chandler Thomas, Jamal Zenon, Lamont Abraham, and Havarah Holmes). Travin Dural placed 3rd in the long jump and Holmes placed 3rd in the 200 meter, Holmes also broke his old state record in the 400 meter running 46.18. BBHS scored 60 points, earning the team Championship status for the second consecutive season. BBHS Track is under the direction of Coach Brent Angelle and Coach John Muder.
St. Martinville Sr. High's Academic Decathlon team represented Louisiana as State Champs at the USAD Nationals Championship held April 25-29, 2012 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. SMSH placed 6th in their division and were named "Rookie Team of the Year" for 2012. Jenney Vongprathoum, Captain, was team high scorer. Other members of the Louisiana State Champ team are Vanel Porter, Elizabeth Theriot, Jessi LaSalle, Patrick LeBlanc, Austin Rangel, Marcel Dixon, and Tristen Ferguson. Coach for the team is Sherrie Jacobs.

Congratulations to Ms. Julie Laviolette, Librarian at Parks Primary. Ms. Laviolette is the winner of the Pelican Publishing Giveaway. She will be receiving books by Rickey Pittman, Sheila Hebert Collins, Beverly Vidrine, and Stacy Allbritton for her Library.
ALA Winner Ms. Michelle Richard was the grand prize winner at this year's ALA confernce held in New Orleans. She won a free trip to next year's conference.
Loozi-Doodle by Kaylan P These “Loozi-Doodle” artworks were drawn by students from five different schools across St. Martin Parish. These creative students are all in the Talent Visual Arts Program. Following our “Louisiana” theme this year, students created these amazing doodles starting with the outline of our state. The only requirement was to draw the doodle with black pen.
St. Martin Parish's last day for students is May 25, 2012. Students will not attend school on May 29th.
