  • CHS Speech Team

    The Cecilia High Speech Team brought back 2nd Place Sweepstakes honors at the Bolton High Speech Tournament.  Additionally, Jessica Duncan placed 2nd in Declamation, 1st in Duet Acting, and 4th in Duo Reading.  Grace Baum placed 2nd in Original Oratory, 1st in Duet Acting (with Jessica), and earned the tournament's prestigious Renaissance Award.  Abbie Duncan placed 3rd in Original Oratory, 4th in Duo Reading (with Jessica) and 2nd in Duet Acting. Seth Latiolais placed 1st in Oral Interpretation, 1st in Extemporaneous Speaking, and 1st in Declamation. Dilan Patin placed 3rd in Oral Interpretation and 2nd in Duet Acting (with Abbie). *Award winners are listed as they appear in the photo from left to right.

  • December 2014 Employee of the Month

     

    Nicole Theyard is the recipient of the November Employee of the Month award.  She is employed at St. Martinville Primary. Ms. Theyard was nominated by Mrs. Sarah Allen, St. Martinville Primary Principal, for this prestigious honor for her effective services and is to be commended for her efforts to make the St. Martin Parish School System a viable system.  Mr. Al Blanchard, Director of Operations and Human Capital, praised Ms. Theyard for her numerous competencies, specifically, referencing her expertise in facilitating the testing process prior to awarding her the EOM plaque during the December 3 school board meeting

  • November Employee of the Month

    Mrs. Nicole Usie, Cecilia High School Assistant Principal, is the recipient of the October, 2014 Employee of the Month award.  Mrs. Usie was nominated for this prestigious honor by Mr. and Mrs. Al (Clair) Blanchard, Jr.  She has been an educator within the St. Martin Parish School System for the past 21 years.  Mrs. Usie began her teaching career at Parks Primary under the supervision of Ms. Glenda McGee, retired Parks Primary Principal. Nicole’s first teaching experience was in a kindergarten classroom.  Later she became a certified math teacher and was employed at Breaux Bridge and Cecilia High Schools. Approximately three years ago, she became an assistant principal at Cecilia High School. She is married to Chippy Usie and is the proud mother of three boys, Owen, Adam, and Aidan.  She is to be commended for her efforts at Cecilia High School and her commitment to make the St. Martin Parish School System a viable system
